Bits & Bobs.

Hello there beautiful people!
There are exactly two options of a Sunday well spent. one: stay in bed all day. two: go to the flea market. Since the weather literally called me to come outside and enjoy the glorious sun, I chose option two. I really like the idea of flea markets and love to browse around the aisles of millions of old unique looking hodgepodge. Here I don't mean rubbish, I talk about gorgeous looking items you don't get at IKEA. Pieces that are beautifully shaped and nicely made, where you are for sure able to tell that this hasn't been produced within the past couple of years. Some people may say this stuff reminds them of their granny - and for some things I am pretty sure it does - but just because it's old and your grandparents owned it, doesn't mean you should categorize it in the pigeon-hole "ugly". So we strolled around and I fell in love with one thing after the other, until I finally found the perfect teapot I have been on the hunt for for months. The man gave me the best deal to take the whole set of dishware besides the teapot. I was a very happy girl going home after  two hours of a nice flea market visit with my little coffee-table-dish. (tea-table-dish would have sounded very odd, haha)

My lovely friend and I went to the antique flea market right on "Straße des 17. Juni" at the train station "Tiergarten" - it is my favorite one in Berlin. It has the perfect seize, nice little stands, that mostly sell antique/baroque-looking items that are high-quality. If you are looking for unique pieces, specially mirrors, chandeliers, books, frames or any kind of dishes, you should check it out, it is so worth going!

Stunningly Shining Stars.

Hi there beautiful people! Wah, Christmas is over already - it was brilliant though! This is a short update on how amazing the Christmas lights are on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin. Driving through the lights is the most stunning thing ever! It feels like you're flying through a universe passing millions of stars, aw.

I hope all of you have enjoyed the holidays and spent some great time with the people you love. (:
Good night!

Happy Hans.

Hello there! The plan for today was going to the baltic sea, escaping from home, feeling the sands on our feet and breathing in the fresh beach breeze. Well, since they predicted windy weather with thunders, we ended up at home and spent some time in Berlin, cause that's all we got ...& it was lovely.

We went to one of my favorite burger places. Hans im Glück. I love the location and the interior, all is based on "Hans", who is a chracter in a children's story and that is super cute. They have so many different and unusual kinds of burgers and baverages, it's very nice.
Check out your location here.

German-American Fair:
Those little things that give you a certain feeling, that remind you of some situations in your life you like to think back on.
Stars & Stripes.
*One year - in High School -every week day morning at 8, we stood up, rested our hands on our hearts and pledged allegiance.
I must say I am not a big fan of extreme patriotism, but still its memories that you wont erase so quickly. Wont forget those lines, ever, I think.
Root Beer.
Together with some smoked potato chips, Root Beer was the first thing that I got introduced to when I started my one year american journey. It was love at first sight. It's my favorite soda and it doesn't only taste like a soda, it's the taste of being free and having the year of my life in america, it's a can full of memories.
 PomPoms.
I've always dreamed of being a Cheerleader. I was one in the states, but there was obviously no way of making it professionally. I regret not starting anywhere in Berlin.

Over & Out.

Hello Lovelys! Since christmas is over, here comes my late christmas update. So, I'm back on track.

Christmas Market with the family. After we went to a concert from the Berlin Star Singers. Lovely Night (:

Daytrip with my friends to Leipzig. The Christmas Market was very pretty and much more traditional, I loved it!

Christmas Eve at my parents. My Sister and I
First Course of the christmas menu. nomnom.

It was really unusual but very nice to spend christmas eve only with my parents and my sister. The past years, the whole family christmas ceremony took place at our house... so, this was more quiet and chilled. Over the holidays though, we either had people visiting or went to visit but I guess that's what christmas is all about, right?!
I gotta admit I am a little annoyed by people's probably most important part of christmas: the presents. Either people will wish me a wonderful christmas with lots of presents or afterwards all they are asking is what I got for christmas. "Did you get something nice for christmas? What did you get? What did you give you parents?"... blablablah. Is it really that important? I mean yeah, we got presents under the christmas tree, a lot. But does that mean, that's all about christmas? No! I really enjoyed the time with my family, watching fairy tales, cooking and all that.
Hope you all had a magical-wondeful christmas!! xx
